“ The Death of a Pet” Have you lost a Beloved animal companion? If you are reading this Article, you probably have. It’s tough to cope with isn’t it? Often it’s made even harder by the fact that in most societies you are made to feel it’s foolish to grieve. “It was only an animal ”you can always get another one. Uh-huh. An animal that shared your life is a family member. An animal who as always accepted you for who you were, warts and all…an animal who loved you unconditionally even in those moments when you were not very lovable. A dog or cat, horse, bird even a little hamster that reminded you by example that each moment of each day should be savoured and enjoyed. even if savouring just means having a nap on a warm sunny day. “Just an Animal” I don’t think so!!! More like a companion, friend, teacher, student, mentor soul mate, and bringer of many gifts. Is it any wonder we grieve when they pass? I doubt that there is anything I can share with you about grief that you haven’t already felt. But maybe as a animal communicator I can help give you the animals perspective on the gifts that come with the cycle of life and death, and how they feel about the natural order of things. I am happy to report that the overwhelming feeling that animals transmit to me is that of a bursting sensation of love and joy , it’s the kind of love feeling that makes your chest swell and makes you want to catch your breath, in the end it is so huge you can’t describe it, you can only feel it. Animals are much more comfortable with the rhythms of life and death than most people are. “Life is part of Death . And Death is part of Life” it is one of the most difficult parts for us humans to handle because we have to let go of a loved one. No matter how much we prepare ourselves ,we are really never ready,” I new this day would came, I just didn’t know it would be today.” syndrome. As humans we often fear what lies beyond , animals in the vast majority of cases do not have this fear. Most of the time animals willing accept their death, or the passing of those close to them. The exceptions I have seen to this have been young animals that have been taken or have seen an un expected accident and some one close to them dies.
And then carry them in our hearts so they can live on. My thoughts submitted by Linda Buhler.
