Last month, as Dr. Wayne Dyer's media sponsor, we had the marvellous experience of welcoming him to the Okanagan. We started out by meeting Wayne Dyer at the VIP reception held at the beautiful Sparkling Hill Resort and then went on to hear him speak at the Wesbild Centre in Vernon. I could have listened to him all evening as his wisdom, compassion, humour, and love for everyone shined through.

Lyndsay and I had the joy of meeting up with Wayne and Pamela McDonald at breakfast the next morning. Seeing that the next day was St. Patrick’s Day, Wayne told me his favourite Irish Joke:

How many beans can you have in an Irish Stew?
I don’t know Wayne, how many beans?
No more than 239, because if you added just one more bean it would be ‘Two Farty!”

Wayne Dyer shared so much time with everyone and had hugs for all. Even at the airport he had time for everyone. Wayne is a true gentleman and an inspiration to all. To read more about this event and our stay at the Sparkling Hill resort – read Lyndsay’s article, plus see our event review section below for more insights from our members.

We would like to send a special thank you to Producer Paul MacInnis and Anne for bringing in Wayne Dyer and our members Sheila, Shannon and Lyndsay for all their hard work with the Wayne Dyer event.

QUESTION:

Hello,
My cholesterol is a bit high so I want to pick foods that are low in cholesterol. If the product food Labels says Zero cholesterol does that mean it is okay to eat. I ask because some foods could be batter zucchini and say zero cholesterol on food label and that can't be good for you. Do you have any suggestions as how best to use the food labels and how best to pick low cholesterol foods. with thanks from Liam, Salmon Arm, BC

REPLY:

Any product that is made from an animal is going to contain cholesterol for example beef, pork, fish, chicken, eggs... This also includes all your dairy products like milk, butter, cheese... Foods that contain no cholesterol are grains, fruits, vegetables... It is important to stay below 200 - 300mg of cholesterol a day. So when looking at food labels, if there are animal products in the ingredients it will contain cholesterol. Your Doctor, Naturopath, certified Nutritionist or registered Dietitian can provide you with more details.

The Second Principle: Alignment (pg 79) - In this chapter, Dyer says that "Alignment is a basic truth that functions as your personal code, unlocking the mystery of manifesting anything into your life."

Well this statement certainly caught my attention. With all of the focus on my to do list and the financial woes of our current economy, not to mention the devastation of late experienced in all corners of the world, if alignment can bring me to a place of peace, I'm in!

In my recent encounter with Dr. Dyer at the Mastering the Art of Manifestation event in Vernon a couple of weeks back, I noticed an energy about him that was unmistakable, that being a state of peace, regardless of what was happening at the time. At the pre-event gathering, Dyer spoke of a family emergency he was dealing with that very day, as well as the events that led up to his latest movie soon to be released, stories and events that most people would have their lives turned upside down by, and still, he chooses peace...through alignment.

...worth a shot I'd say~

~ Lyndsay

We sponsor community events that have value for our members.

I was lucky enough to hear Wayne Dyer at the VIP event at the Sparkling Hills Resort and at the Event Centre in Vernon. It was my first time seeing and hearing him speak. I felt his wisdom, compassion and love for everyone, as well as the pain he has gone through. He speaks to such a wide audience. My mother loved seeing him on tv and read many of his books long ago.
I could have listened to him all night and I am sure he would have kept talking if he could have stayed longer, and he did that too! I was very impressed with Wayne Dyer, he speaks very easily and captivates his audience.

SOULAR RHYTHMS FOR THE WEEK OF: April 15-21, 2011

Tip of the Week:

This Full Moon should produce some dramatic peaks, given the dynamic New Moon seed. Yes, there is an ‘organic’ element by virtue of cycles which are seeded, wax to a peak and then decline, like the waxing and waning Moon. In this respect, every cycle contains an archetypal pattern containing four quarters. Astrology is the study of these cycles and how they are intrinsically woven into our very DNA which, like the 4 Elements, is based on 4 principle "letters" (ATCG). The 4 main stages of a cycle begins, comes to its half way point, culminates and then again subsides before beginning again, with a half way point in between also equals 4. The list of parallel patterns goes on and on according to natural laws. In as much as this pattern is not acknowledged as having a parallel is the degree to which it is not in the ‘invested interests’ of those who consider such natural patterns to be ‘arbitrary’. The sc...
