QUESTION for Q and A:
What is the best food to feed my young dog? Can, dry, raw or make our own from scraps. Thanks from Clare, Kamloops
ANSWER: Hi Clare, My name is Linda Buhler and I'm a Holistic Pet Practitioner. I have been asked to answer your doggie question, from OK In Health question and answer department. So to answer your question on what to feed your young dog, #1 depending on how young your dog is? I would highly recommend the raw food diet, plus a very good kibble mixed with it (such as California wild). If your dog is already on a kibble then you need to change over very slowly or it may result in having a loose stool to start with. The raw food diet is the most natural food there is for dogs, and they have far less health problems stronger bones and teeth etc... But it is important that you have a balanced diet, so I recommend that you buy from a reputable person or Pet food store. I would start with a buffalo or a lamb, to make sure there are no allergies... if you need a contact person for buying in bulk I can also assist with that. Good Luck and have happy healthy days ahead. From Linda Buhler, Colour Me Healthy, Oliver B.C. (250)485-7116 www.colourmehealthy.com
QUESTION:
I often get stress headaches, backaches, and neck aches. I know these are normal, but how can I try to eliminate them?
ANSWER: Dear Reader, An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so take some weight off your shoulders by nipping that stress in the bud. Head, neck, shoulder, back, and other body aches often result from a progressive build-up of muscle tension brought on by a stressful day or week. If you can recognize muscle tension when it begins, you can prevent it from turning into uncomfortable aches and pains. First, try and take stock of what may be causing you stress in the first place. Pinpointing the cause may help you prevent it from triggering those pesky aches and pains. Are exams or important meetings at work responsible for your teeth grinding or shoulder clenching? Is procrastination causing you to lose sleep or sit hunched over your books or computer for hours on end? If you notice trends like this, try to take a break when you sense those stressors kicking in. Prioritizing your to-dos and creating a schedule may help you make time for those much needed breaks. During your five or ten minutes of down time, take some deep breaths, stretch, or go for a walk. Although it may sound like a broken record, eating regular, healthy meals and getting exercise is also a good way to deal with the stress that is becoming a real pain in the neck (and shoulders and back). As you've likely heard, too, "laughter is the best medicine" so try reading, watching, or listening to something that will make you smile and take your mind off what is stressing you out. If you're looking for a more physical remedy for your stress-induced aches and pains, check out your local health store or local massage therapist.

An "Excuses Begone" existence is a tall order, especially when we are challenged by personal or family crisis, poor health, or any experiences that are outside of our control.
I have spoken with countless individuals who have been bombarded with challenges lately, and I agree, it seems far simpler to blame others; the government; the economy; or the weather; than to turn inward and allow the philosophy that Dr. Dyer presents to take hold. However, while it may be easier, the price tag is a high one.
Through applying the concepts in "Excuses Begone", I have been provided with a reminder to stop and reflect on my experience in a conscious way, spending less time on auto-pilot blaming myself or others for my woes. This has proven to be a source of peace amidst some very trying times, and for that I am grateful.
Something I have believed for years now is that while I may not have control over what happens around me, I do have control over how I respond, even if I'm not all that pleased with my moment to moment responses. The truth is, I am choosing them and I am free to choose again in this new moment - Dr. Dyer has explained this concept in great detail in relation to the memes and underlying beliefs that keep us stuck in our excuses.
When things don't go as planned, when life gets hard, and I'm feeling challenged beyond my perceived capacity to manage life...I will take away "self-love" as the underlying thread of this book, and treat myself accordingly, because when I do that, I need not blame others, nor myself, I simply get to choose my response, and if I am conscious about it, I will choose in alignment with my highest vision of myself and I do believe that is why we are here having this human experience in the first place.

Review of 'Connect to Your Own Power Workshop'- with Cindy Smith May 14 & 15, 2011
Cindy Smith's workshop has become a main staple in my life. I have been exploring my personal power, and the angelic realm ever since, With the clear and careful guidance of Cindy's teachings from the Angelic realm, my spiritual level has elevated significantly and my energies are attune to higher vibrational levels. I no longer fear these energies because I now understand what they are and how to protect and clear myself. A weekend of guided meditation with Huna and dolphin energy has really grounded my clairsensience personality. Chakra healing and cleansing with the Angels has added to my Reiki and Crystal knowledge. It is exciting to now be able to add the Angel card reading modality to my vessel of gathering and learning along my spiritual journey. Cindy Smith is offering the Angel Empowerment Practitioner™ - Certification Course in Penticton this October and a mini workshop at the wise women's festival in September.

SOULAR RHYTHMS FOR THE WEEK OF: July 15, 2011
Tip of the Week:
Cancer is the sign of families and the nurturing and protection of children and of ones vulnerabilities in general. Thus this sign depicted as the crab having a hard outer shell to protect its inner softness. The relative frailty of life suggests that we instinctively react to protect ourselves from many inner and outer realities that pose threats to our security. This long list includes predators and pestilence, hunger and exposure to harsh elements, external enemies and aggressors, accidents and obstacles…. Roots and ancestry which creates family trees is also linked to Cancer. From this we can also trace inheritances which include genetics. Food, nutrition and nurturing are yet other traits. It is an ironic twist that the disease called ‘cancer’ shares the same title as does the Zodiac sign of food, nutrition, nurturing and families, all of which sustains us and brings us together in celebration of life.
