After personally experiencing the tragic loss of his son in 1978, and subsequently developing cancer, Dr. Hamer, as the head internist in a German Cancer clinic, was moved to research the connection between emotional trauma and cancer. He found that much of what we consider to be disease, including cancer, and heart disease, originates from an unexpected conflict or emotional shock (biological conflict), affecting not only the psyche, but also the part of the brain that corresponds biologically to the specific trauma and a specific organ. Dr. Hamer has since confirmed his findings with over 40,000 case studies.
This is essential knowledge for both the health care consumer as well as the health and wellness practitioner. When one understands that the resolution of trauma occurs in the psyche, and the associated physical symptoms of the healing phase that follow, then solutions to previously unresolvable problems come into focus.
German New Medicine provides a meticulous and detailed "road map", linking all phases of the "biological program" from initial trauma to the final stages of healing. A team of different yet complimentary practitioners with a knowledge of Dr Hamer's work may be needed to support a patient throught the complete "biological program".
Practitioners with a knowledge of Dr Hamer's research can rapidly zero in on the emotional origin of a physical problem, facilitating the resolution of the physical and emotional symptoms of disease - especially chronic and autoimmune diseases as well as mood disorders (schizophrenia and bipolar syndrome) that are unexplainable and unresolvable in the modern medical paradigm.
This approach offers true resolution rather than pharmaceutical "band aids" that simply mask the symptoms and problems. This is truly the cornerstone of holistic medicine.

John Theobald, after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from York University in Toronto, spent the following 10 years selling scientific and medical equipment in Western Canada. This exposure to the workings of modern medicine provided insights that convinced him of the importance of staying healthy, learning as much as possible about natural, and alternative approaches to health and wellness.
By the time John discovered the work of Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer MD, he already had a broad understanding of the many approaches to health and wellness that differ from the conventional view. German New Medicine was the missing piece. GNM offered an elegant and detailed explanation of the "disease" cycle, based on natural biological laws rather than on standard or “alternative” theories. The pieces quickly fell into place.
He has been studying GNM with Caroline Markolin, Ph.D. since 2006 and now teaches this important paradigm-shifting work full time.
