Organic is the way to go, local organic is even better, growing your own is the best. Come learn how easy it can be to grow your own food (no matter how small your space might be), and how much joy it can bring to your life.
Join us as we welcome local organic growing guru, Lee McFaden as she shows us why it is good to grow our own (when possible) and just how easy it can be.
Lee has been on the forefront of organic growing. She created Mariposa Organic Farm in the Similkameen Valley which was established in 1962, making it the pioneer organic farm in the Similkameen Valley.
Organic farmer, gardener, teacher, and developer of the first Adult Learning course on organic Principles at Okanagan College, Penticton campus, Lee is always willing to share her experience and interest in maintaining soil fertility and plant health the organic way as this is a comfortable fit with her naturalist activities.
Currently, she is writing online courses on the principles of organics for the Organic Farming Institute of B.C. and also instructs the course.
