Turmeric Lemonade

Description:
This orange-colored root is an anti-inflamatory, helps Alzheimer’s, and lowers bad cholesterol. Turmeric is used for arthritis, heartburn (dyspepsia), stomach pain, diarrhea, intestinal gas, stomach bloating, loss of appetite, jaundice, liver problems and gallbladder disorders.

Turmeric is also used for headaches, bronchitis, colds, lung infections, fibromyalgia, leprosy, fever, menstrual problems, and cancer. Other uses include depression, water retention, worms, and kidney problems. And, although it stains everything, including your teeth, temporarily, it really works to clean your teeth, whitening them, without damaging your teeth like peroxide does.

Turmeric is pretty much a super root with super powers. It’s packed full of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, is great for brain health, lowers risk of heart disease, and has been found to lift depression. In this clinical trial, on major depressive disorder (MDD), Curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) equaled the effects of the prescription drug fluoxetine (the generic form of Prozac), without the adverse effects!


Ingredients:
4 cups cold filtered or sparkling water

2 tablespoons freshly grated or powdered turmeric (peel it by holding a spoon against the root, convex side towards you, and lightly brush the spoon against it- the skin should come off easily)

4 tablespoons 100% maple syrup, honey or Stevia if you are avoiding sugar

Juice of 1 1/2 lemons or limes

Optional: add the juice of 1 blood orange
Optional" Add some apple cider vinger


Directions:
Combine all ingredients into a small pitcher, stir and serve with a slice of lemon as a garnish



Servings: 4

Kale Salad and Kale Pasta are but two of the favorites in my family.

Let's look at the high nutritional value of kale. One cup of chopped kale has approximately 34 calories, 2 grams of protein, and more vitamin C than an orange! It is a rich source of iron and calcium. It is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for brain health, and boosts heart health. It also contains Vitamin A, Vitamin K, and Folate. These carry powerful cancer protecting antioxidants.

Kale tends to have a bitter taste unless it is prepared correctly.Below is a recipe that tastes good.
